First time when you see someone “tapping,” it must cross your mind “What kind of weird thing is this??” That is just by looking. The second shock is by trying to do it.
Well, that is how we all react to unknown. The best advice we can give you is that you do not start any program or technique before you educate yourself about basic elements, how it works, what ‘s the purpose, etc. It is useless to use any tool without actually understanding how it can be helpful to you.
Tapping is certainly not some weird tool or crazy new age technique. The official term is Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), and it is a form of psychological acupuncture which utilizes the body’s energy meridian points. Traditional Chinese acupuncture use needles to stimulate “acupoints” and those benefits of healing methods in Eastern medicine like acupuncture and acupressure are known over 5000 years.
On the other side, EFT (tapping) uses fingertips to stimulate same “acupoints” but combined with verbalizing emotional blocks (problems) with affirmation phrase. Combining these three elements in one puts the energy system in balance and allows the body to start a self-healing process. Our body is such a powerful system, and it can heal itself.
Tapping can help resolve many problems like relief from emotional problems, disorders, addictions, phobias, and others.
The whole process of tapping is simple. You focus on the negative emotion at hand (anything that’s bothering you), and while you hold mental focus on that negative emotion, you use your fingertips to tap 5-7 times each one of the body’s meridian points. Meridian point is simple are known as channel network which represents a path through the life energy flows. If any of those paths contains blocked energy, we will feel discomfort in the form of negative emotions.
How To Do A Tapping?
First, you need to know about the sequence of tapping point; they go in this order:
Head (TH)- tap with all four fingers
Eyebrow (EB) – inner edges of the eyebrows, use two fingers.
Side of eye (SE) – use two fingers
Under eye (UE)- use two fingers
Under nose (UN) –use two fingers
Chin (CP) – use two fingers
Collarbone (CB) – use two fingers
Head (TH) – repeat the sequence
Remember, EFT is the combined procedure with three elements. Choose the problem what’s bothering you or any other particular issue, for example, feeling nervous.
Before you start EFT give a rate your problem, e.g., nervousness from 1-10. You got to know how to compare afterward.
Begin with composing a statement including problem you want to deal with, and with the following affirmation afterward.
“Even though I feel this nervousness, I choose to deeply and completely love and accept myself.”
“Even though I am nervous about my work assignment I choose to deeply and completely love and accept myself.
“Even though I am feeling this nervousness about my financial situation, I choose to deeply and completely love and accept myself.
“Even though I am _________about ______, I choose to deeply and completely love and accept myself.”
Tapping techniques are becoming more and more accepted as healing methods in Western society as they are simple and painless. Anyone can learn it, and it helps everybody (school kids, teenagers, adults.. ) This powerful self-development tool is used to resolve particular emotional challenges and remove blocks. However the most benefits you will see if you educate yourself and do it properly. For some clearing (resolving emotional blocks) will need time to be consistent and results will show up. As you can conclude self-development is a journey of learning. Be willing to do your part and learn.
